MODEL M1A1 THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN. FULLY TRANSFERABLE, CURIO.

Cal. 45 ACP. S# 168626. Bbl. 10.5". M1A1 Model of the infamous Thompson SMG, “the gun that made the 20’s roar”. SMG was dewatted, similar to other Cadmus Industries guns with a plug, and was reactivated at some point. Classic hardwood furniture including horizontal forend. Shoulder stock had metal butt plate w/ trap door. Blued finish on all exposed metal surfaces. Above the horizontal handguard lies a smooth tapered bbl. which terminates at the familiar exposed front blade sight. Sling swivels front & rear. The simple yet effective rear sight combines a fixed peep w/ a notch in its protected environment for fast target acquisition. Right side smooth cocking handle. The M1A1 utilizes the heavily produced 20 rd. & 30 rd. stick mag. Receiver markings are as follows: (Left side) “THOMPSON SUB MACHINE GUN – CALIBER 45 M1A1 – NO. 168626” (Top) familiar Thompson trademark bullet logo forward of rear sight, "U.S. PROPERTY" behind rear sight & "CADMUS IND" to the left of the ejection port. (Right side) “AUTO – ORDNANCE CORPORATION – BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, U.S.A.”. MAGS: 5 steel 30 rd. stick Mags, all blued finish. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: fitted green canvas transport case. CONDITION: reapplied blued finish on all exposed metal surfaces quite complete & consistent w/ some thinning in areas of mechanical intervention & on high edges. Light, speckled patina on top of receiver & barrel. Wooden furniture exhibits period typical impressions, while retaining structural integrity. Bore is frosted w/ visible rifling.
